| Remove vented filler and most convenient pipe plug and
completely drain oil [photo] |

bearing carrier screws from both bearing carriers. Remove both carriers. Carefully
slide open carrier over projecting shaft diameter. [photo] |

Output
shaft assembly can now be removed from unit, exercise care not to nick or scratch
worm gear or shaft diameters. [photo] |
| • | Check
tapered roller bearing for signs of contamination or discoloration. Rollers should
not bind or exhibit flat spots. [photo] |
